Red Movilidad and “Cruzados” invite people to use public transport before the upcoming opening of the Claro Arena

Red Movilidad and “Cruzados” invite people to use public transport before the upcoming opening of the Claro Arena
  • Authorities announced reinforcement of buses both for soccer matches and for the different massive events that take place in the venue.

Friday, July 18, 2025. A few days before the inauguration of the new Claro Arena stadium of the Catholic University, the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, and the Director of Metropolitan Public Transport, Paola Tapia, announced the offer of Red Movilidad services that will be available to those attending the matches and other events that will be held at the venue.

Both authorities, together with the president of Cruzados, Juan Tagle, toured the facilities of the renovated stadium, which has a capacity for 20 thousand attendees, and reinforced the call to use public transportation for soccer matches and concerts that are already scheduled for the coming months.

“From the Ministry of Transport we are committed and making every effort so that public transport is an ally in all people’s activities, whether to go to work, to study, but also for recreational panoramas. In this sense, the Claro Arena will be a new epicenter of sports, musical, and community activities, so Red Movilidad will be operating permanently and with special operations plans on the days of events, with electric and high-standard buses to mobilize attendees safely, quickly, and sustainably.”, said the minister, Juan Carlos Muñoz.

So far in 2025, Red Movilidad has implemented special plans for 44 mass events, reinforcing services with buses waiting nearby to ensure the return home of attendees.

Paola Tapia, director of the DTPM, said that “We are in the final stretch for the inauguration of the Claro Arena and that is why we invite those who attend to prioritize public transportation in their journeys. We have an integrated system that allows you to use both Metro and the connection with RED buses. We have six services that allow you to get to the stadium, both for football matches and for artistic events. And just as we do in different venues in the city, at the Claro Arena we will also have special plans that allow those attending this stadium to return home safely and also economically”.

For mass events at the Universidad Católica Stadium, the RED system will have reinforcements for services C02 and C02c, with departures from Camino El Alba. In addition to this, there is the usual coverage of other services such as the 421, which begins in Maipú and crosses the city until it reaches the stadium, and the routes 421c, C27, C37 and C09c that also reach Los Dominicos. Additionally, during 2025 a new service will be implemented, the C25, which will offer a new connection from La Reina, along Padre Hurtado Avenue.

“We appreciate the presence of the minister and the director. We really want to promote the use of public transportation to come to the Claro Arena. That way the experience, not only of those who come, but also of the neighborhood, will be better. It should also be noted that we have a new access that we have enabled through Camino El Alba, which will be expeditious and will help with the quick connection with public transport. And let’s not forget that in this stadium we are also promoting sustainability, contributing along the same lines as the electric buses of the RED system that will arrive at this venue, which means that a fan who uses public transport to come will be reducing his emission of pollution at the same time as enjoying a great show”, reflected the president of Cruzados, Juan Tagle.
