Red Siempre Contigo: Part of the new I26 route benefiting the communes of Maipú and Cerrillos

Responding to the different connectivity needs that people have, Red Movilidad begins a process of improvements to the system that includes the entry of a total of 1,800 new electric buses and the implementation of new routes.

Santiago, May 14.- Benefiting more than 16 thousand residents of the communes of Maipú and Cerrillos weekly, this Saturday, May 17, the new I26 route is implemented, starting the process of renovation of the system that aims to improve the quality of life of people who use public transport daily.

In this context, the new I26 will provide coverage between the El Mirador axis and the Cerrillos Metro station, also being a new travel alternative between Plaza de Maipú and Metro Line 6.

This service will operate from Monday to Sunday at the following times:

  • Monday to Friday: 05:15 – 23:00 hrs.
  • Saturday: 05:40 – 23:00 hrs.
  • Sunday and holidays: 06:30 – 23:00 hrs.

Other modifications

Meanwhile, on Monday, May 19, the 417e service modifies its route, ceasing to circulate on the Vespucio Sur Highway, to use the Autopista del Sol in its place. In addition, it extends from the Plaza de Maipú to its terminal on Av. Portales.

Finally, route 413c also stops providing service from Monday, May 19. In its place, users will be able to board the 405 and, on Av. Portales, the new I26, which will reinforce the offer to and from Plaza de Maipú.

It should be noted that the renovation process that begins this Saturday will include the creation of new services and the renewal of others, in addition to the incorporation of more electric buses, which added to the current ones will reach a figure of more than four thousand by the end of 2025. this process of improvements to the Mobility Network will benefit more than 3.5 million people in more than 20 districts of Santiago.
