Red Movilidad: trips freed up thanks to Dale QR increased by 33% during the first half of the year

Red Movilidad: trips freed up thanks to Dale QR increased by 33% during the first half of the year
  • More than 63 thousand people have reached the DaleQR and have benefited from free trips so far this year.
  • 28% of the transactions that are carried out daily in the Red Movilidad system are carried out with QR, with women being the ones who mostly use it.

Tuesday, July 22, 2024.- The DaleQR benefit, which allows you to get free trips after exceeding the goal of 41 thousand pesos, was delivered 146,990 times in the first six months of this year. This figure represents an increase of 33% compared to the same period in 2024, when it was delivered in 110,157 opportunities.

Since it was created in September 2023, this incentive for frequent flyers who pay for their ticket with QR has been granted 469,572 times, benefiting a total of 123,174 different people.

The figures were released this Tuesday, during the presentation of Rutpay, BancoEstado’s new application that allows payments to be made from the phone using QR code in participating businesses and services, including public transport.

In this regard, the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, pointed out that “Today we are summoned to make access to public transport more convenient, more modern, safer. For this administration, one of the areas in which progress has been emblematic is precisely the deployment of different alternatives to be able to access public transport. We were used to paying by card bip! and in this period we have seen. And it is important to note that 73% of the people who pay with QR in Red Movilidad do so through BancoEstado applications. In other words, we are talking about a very relevant partner for the system.”

The president of BancoEstado, Daniel Hojman, indicated that “We are very happy that we are incorporating a new advance in the digitalization of payments associated with transportation that BancoEstado is offering, which in particular is associated with a new application of the bank that is Rutpay. It is a digital version of the RUT account, it is an application for payment, benefits, access to information that in the future will be transformed into a super app with many other applications or mini applications inside. Today Rutpay can be downloaded and you can also use the QR passage with this new application.”

In addition to being able to access the integrated network (buses, Santiago Metro and Tren Nos-Estación Central), Rutpay will be linked to the Dale QR program, for which they will be able to access the benefit of traveling for zero cost once they reach an amount of $41,000 in trips during the calendar month.

Meanwhile, the director of Metropolitan Public Transport, Paola Tapia, explained that “of the 5 million transactions that are registered daily in Red Movilidad, 28% of them are already made through QR payment. Without a doubt, Rutpay will also be an ally, as has been the financing we have had from BancoEstado for the arrival of electromobility and to consolidate technological payments.”

Today, more than 4.3 million people enrolled in QR payment, that is, enabled to pay through their phone.
