Red Movilidad adds new routes to Pudahuel and San Bernardo that did not have public transport
  • This is the J22 service that will link the Pajaritos Intermodal with the Praderas de Lo Aguirre sector and the G46 in the commune of San Bernardo, in addition to an extension of the I03 service at Central Station.
  • These route adjustments, in addition to improving connectivity for thousands of people, will allow access to the integrated fare between buses, Metro de Santiago and Tren Nos – Central Station, the Dale QR benefit, or the fare reductions for students and the elderly.

Santiago, July 5, 2025.- An important step to improve the accessibility and quality of life of residents of Pudahuel and San Bernardo was taken this Saturday by the Metropolitan Public Transport Directorate, by launching 2 new routes to sectors of these communes that for the first time in their history will have access to public transport.

This is the J22 service of Red Movilidad that began operating this Saturday and will connect the Praderas de Lo Aguirre sector, on the side of Route 68, with the Pajaritos Intermodal benefiting more than 4 thousand passengers per week, and who until now did not have public transportation and allocated up to 3 thousand pesos just to get to the metro.

The director of Metropolitan Public Transport (DTPM), Paola Tapia Salas, mentioned that these new routes and adjustments in the Red system improve the quality of life of thousands of people, and are in line with collaborative work with neighbors and municipalities to know and solve the demands for more and better connectivity.

“Better public transport opens doors and generates opportunities. One of the pillars of our administration has been territorial equity, and for this reason, we have created 43 new services such as the one we are launching today, the J22 to Praderas de Lo Aguirre, which will benefit more than 4 thousand passengers who from now on, with a single Bip, will have a direct connection to the urban radius of Santiago,” said the authority.

The mayor of Pudahuel, Ítalo Bravo, celebrated the start of this new service that, as he stressed, was achieved by the demand of neighbors of the Pradera Aguirre sector, and the western and rural sector of the commune. “They told us for a long time, what it meant not to have public transport and that now the public transport system is arriving, it is a territorial justice that is achieved thanks to the commitment of the Ministry of Transport and the Metbus company,” said the communal chief.

For Maritza Muñoz, a resident of the Lo Aguirre sector, she said that “some people may see public transportation as something less, but for us after 20 years that we were totally isolated, it is going to change our pockets, the level, the quality of life so we are really happy.”

Along with J22, this Saturday the G46 service also began to operate in San Bernardo, which connects La Estancilla with the Nos train station, benefiting 2 thousand people who also did not have public transportation, in addition to an adjustment of the I03 route that expands its route to the interior of Villa Portales, in Central Station. The mayor of the commune, Felipe Muñoz, indicated that “when there is greater collectivity, it changes people’s lives and allows them to arrive home earlier and also have more time to be with their family.”
